Hello everyone. I don't know if you heard, many of you probably already did, but Itch shadowbanned almost all furry content on the site. I'm not... super knowledgeable about these things so what I'm saying will be very superficial, but this is super important. There are so many creators whose livelihoods are at stake.

What this means is that NSFW video games will no longer be shown in the search bar and tag system of Itch.io. They will also no longer become elligble for payouts. However, they are still searchable in third party search engines such as Google. This recent change is going to impact many NSFW works out there, especially those that rely on Itch and Steam for their target audiences. (Citing GoldenGlow)

And MC isn't even a NSFW visual novel. I had plans to, but I might just... censor it. Also our biggest source of traffic is Itch itself, we thrive on their search engine. By having that cut off means killing us completely.

I... don't know what will happen to us in the future. There are petitions people can sign, but the ones I saw were US/UK and I'm neither. This is an extremely problematic situation. Even if my earnings were little, I could at least count on this system to show my game to new people.

Now that is also gone.

Moonlight Castle will continue, but I'd definitely appreciate if you guys could provide a stronger support network. Not necessarily by donating, that one is secondary to me, but to spread the word, I guess. Itch is now completely unreliable for news and updates so I recommend checking in on social medias or Discord.
