I imagined what the events of Clyde's path would be like during the day starting from day 4, now I'll try to write a summary (I hope I don't sound verbose).
Clyde feels uncomfortable about last night at the castle, but he's also worried about Blake's scar and the students' obsession with him. Consulting with Blake and Dylan, the dragon asks for suggestions and the two tell him to try saying he likes men to keep girls away. The crocodile also tells Clyde that Joel has started to get closer to him and tells him to improve their relationship, as it would provide an advantage for both of them. Meanwhile, during recess, Dylan goes to see Joel to give him some advice on how to defend himself, but also to tell him to get closer to Clyde, because yesterday, both at school and at the castle, he felt a certain mutual sympathy. So, after school, Clyde finds Joel and invites him for a ride to the park. During the walk among the trees, Clyde tries to improve his relationship with Joel by tell him some compliments and asking him some questions, for example whether he wants to be called by a nickname or not, his favorite season and so on. They also talk about the idea of having Joel join the student council and what role he could fill. But then Clyde, looking at the messages on his phone, feels guilty and goes away for a moment to reflect. However, his cell phone falls out of his pocket and Joel retrieves it, realizing that the cell phone was unlocked, he decides to find out what happened and discovers that Clyde had forgotten to finish a thesis for an important test, but he also discovers that the dragon has no another message apart from those relating to the student council and the group formed by Liam, but above all, that he has no telephone number in his address book, apart from that of his father and mother and that he had installed an app with advice on how to make friends. Joel tries to reach Clyde but is surprised by a call from Clyde's father. The dragon has a panic attack, but Joel tries to calm things down by saying that he invited Clyde for a trip to the park to get some orange juice. Clyde is very touched by the fact that his friend is protecting him from his father's fury, even if the latter does not give up telling Joel that his son has no friends. However, when Joel notices that Clyde's father no longer answers the phone, he realizes that the situation seems serious and hangs up. He tells the dragon that he thinks his father is very angry and that he is looking for him and that they must hide where they cannot find him. Clyde and Joel take refuge in the latter's apartment and the dragon confides in his friend about his family situation and that his father only wants the best for the family, filling him with pressure. At that moment Clyde receives another call, this time from his mother, asking Clyde to put it on speaker. Unlike his father, Clyde's mother is much more calm, relaxed and permissive and says that she is happy that Clyde has friends and that the dragon doesn't deserve all that pretension and pressure and that he is just doing his best at school. The woman concludes by saying that she will pick up her son, that she will talk to her husband about the matter and that Clyde and Joel can both stay at each other's houses to study and other things. Clyde thanks her mother and gives her Joel's address. The latter talks to the dragon about how to move when they go to the castle at night, until Clyde's mother rings on the intercom and the two go down to join her. As soon as Clyde gets into the car, he and Joel say goodbye, arranging to meet at Russell's bar for the evening. The next day, during the break, Joel is accompanied by Blake, Liam and Dylan to join Clyde in his study, but they see the latter in the corridor dealing with Margaret and other girls from the fan club, only this time the dragon appears more casually and Dylan joins him to cover his back. Clyde enters his study with Dylan and as soon as the girls leave Joel and the others enter too. The five discuss the investigations they carried out in the castle the previous nights. At the end of the meeting Blake and Liam leave, Joel was also about to leave, but before doing so he notices that Clyde had a shocked expression due to the messages his father had sent him and as soon as Joel leaves the room, the dragon goes in the bathroom. Inside, a tender scene occurs where Joel reassures Clyde again, telling him that they have improved since the last adventures they had together. In a moment of confidence and consolation Joel is overcome by emotion and kisses him in a surprising way, and then immediately apologizes, but Clyde cheers him up and the two kiss lovingly, seen only by Dylan who secretly takes a photo of them with his cell phone while they are distracted. Once out of the bathroom, Joel and Clyde hear the bell ring and while the former returns to class, the dragon receives from Dylan the photo that he had just taken with the phrase "Your secret is safe with me". Joel also receives the photo, becoming embarrassed. At his house, Clyde confides in his mother, showing her the photo taken by Dylan, she is surprised because she didn't expect it, but she is still happy for him. After some time, the woman goes to talk to her husband, discovering that he had overheard the conversation and seen the photo after taking his son's cell phone. Luckily, Clyde's father doesn't want to take his son out of college, but he doesn't want to let his son be influenced by his classmates, and devises a plan to keep Joel away from Clyde. He hires a hacker to post the photo with the phrase "Student Council President's Secret Lover Revealed" on the university blog, under the guise of a student from the journalism club. The next day Margaret and the others from the fan club look at the photo published on the blog and they don't take it well, they take it badly, very badly. So in the interval they begin to bully Joel by telling him to give up on Clyde and never get close to him again. Fortunately for Joel, Ryan, Dylan and the others arrive to help him and defend him, Clyde meanwhile had seen the scene from afar. In the canteen everyone wonders what happened and as soon as they see the photo on the blog they think that Dylan has messed up, but Clyde's mother sends a message to her son revealing his father's plan. But Dylan thinks it's partly his fault for taking the photo, Joel meanwhile fears that if his friends defend him they will all end up in a bad light, but Clyde decides to take matters into his own hands, asking the others to concentrate on the search what they are doing on the castle.
My story ends here because I can't think of anything else. 😅 I hope you enjoyed it!
Inspiration captures me, many scenes involving the characters from Moonlight Castle come to mind! I hope it's not a problem if I write my fantasies here...
I would be curious to know what the N3 with Clyde will be like, also because the route is incomplete and has remained with a note of sweetness.
In each route there is a nightmare of Joel's where he sees the guy he has feelings for get killed and sealed away.
I had an idea where I imagined Joel and Clyde adventuring around the castle and the latter is surprised by ghosts who take the form of those who have caused problems in his life (like Margaret and his father). They make him feel guilty and the dragon ends up going crazy and being swallowed up by the shadows, Joel runs away in fear and finds his chained corpse. After waking up from the nightmare Joel helps Clyde since he knows the difficulties by heart, since they repeat with slight differences (like the ghost dragon), and they come across a particular ghost (which I have an idea on how to draw) at the head of the ghosts who have sinned of pride. Who compliments them for overcoming the obstacles and leads them to the room where they find the blue ring.
From what I understand while playing, it seems that Liam has the ability to make anyone nervous. It seems that Blake considers him as the main suspect in the case of the scar above the eye, Clyde is on his side while Dylan is in business with the lynx.
I had an idea for an episode that can be done during the day. So, in summary...
One day Joel receives a letter from his mother who says: "Hello, Joel. They have recently opened some luxury hot springs here in the city and have started distributing limited edition tickets with which you can bathe for free one time, My colleague got me a handful and I thought I'd give them to you. I tried these hot springs myself and they're fabulous, I highly recommend you try them with some of your friends! I love you, mom." Joel finds four tickets inside the envelope and thinks he wants to invite his friends to school to go to the hot springs together in the afternoon. However, if everyone found out about the tickets immediately, those who weren't invited would be upset and Joel decides to meet privately with whoever he wants to invite and give them the tickets, hiding the truth from the others. For Joel, the idea of being in the company of his friends in the middle of warm water and completely naked is relaxing, embarrassing and exciting at the same time and he doesn't want to give up the opportunity.
So, what do you think? If you want, you can change it, putting only two tickets for Joel and his partner, or eight tickets so that everyone comes.
Technically speaking, it wouldn't be the beach episode, it's more like it's set in an onsen. However, I don't think I understood your answer well, I apologize.
Really looking forward to the next update. My heart broke when I failed to save a certain character during the second visit to the castle. Great emotional dynamic! And the twist on the third day worked well to raise the stakes and my anxiety levels to ensure a better outcome.
Hello!! Just curious if it`s possible, can you please add them on C.AI/Character A.I ? It would be really awesome if possible, either way i love this new update along with the storyline, the design ugh i love it and their hawt sprites, the amount of work that has put in to this project is a 10/10 for me, and i would be happily wait patiently for the next future updates, also i almost forgot i hope you guys had or having a wonderful Christmast and a Happy New Year!!!
I binged all the available routes and man, the character writing in this game is on-point. Everyone's so easily likeable (except one pipsqueak, who only got worse and worse with each route I passed and is almost irredeemable, regardless of the few glimpses we got into his "tragic backstory") and it's hard to go wrong regardless if you decide to just pick one guy or read them all.
I'm very glad I finally gave this VN a shot, it was hard to put down and I really enjoyed how I even found a few of the characters relatable, which doesn't happen often.
I'd be curious to know what Joel's apartment is like. From the way it's described in the game, it's not that great, but I hope it's not worse! I imagine that in addition to the bedroom, there is also heating, kitchen, electricity, bathroom and a sofa with TV. I also think so because later he might invite someone...
I would like to give my feedback on this game. I found Moonlight Castle very intriguing. The paths that I found most interesting are those of Dylan, Clyde and Blake. I hope that on day 4 the relationships Joel develops with others will intensify. I imagine seeing kisses, maybe moments of Joel spending the night with someone, etc. I am also curious about the mysteries of the ancient castle and the mysterious character whose name we can choose (I chose the name of Navi, one of the brightest stars in the constellation Cassiopeia).
Is MC really named Joel? I got confused since I choose the name Noel, so I thought that the game only changes the first letter... but when I decided to try with other names he kept showing Joel regardless of the name that was written
the characterizations are so strong grounded in reality, doesn't feel like cliched tropes. its as if the writer directly knows some people like this. very organic drama among them, doesn't feel forced, comes natural when an issue arises. good foreshadowing narrative, especially of what the main character can do. then are is piecing together all the answers presented, in one route gives answer when another route gives the question and then it all adds up putting them together on your own, brilliant writing across the board.
one character I absolutely hate, but they are well written and considering their upbring its realistic and makes sense why they're like that. Weirdly enough they are one of my favs, i know doesn't add up, fav character I hate, wut?
My husbandos I adore so much; Ryan, Blake, Dylan, Patrice. my fav character designs, Clyde and Russell very unique.
These messages make me feel so happy and fulfilled to be writing this story in the first place. "its as if the writer directly knows some people like this." You're right about that. The best way to write real people is by interacting with people. Usually you mix your own life experiences, the people you've met and a touch of creativity. Which routes have you played so far? I'm always looking forward to hear what our readers think of the game.
sorry to bother you, idk where to put this. I got an error afterwards, was Blake Route A Night 3 as seeing him smoke right before leaving cafe to head to the castle. I clicked "ignore" still worked fine to continue.
Sorry for any misspelling English is my second language.
Hello! Before anything I wanted to say the game is looking amazing and the story is really interesting.
I've encountered a small issue, I don't know if it's been reported already, but here it goes. So, I've finished one of the routes and started another, but it seems like the fast forward activates at random, some times letting me go forward and sometimes it doesn't activates, even in long stretches of text I've already seen.
Some considerations you might want:
All of the terminated (unseen texts, choices and new chapters) are activated.
Don't know if it's related but my text speed is in fast.
If I go back the fast forward button works perfectly; I was thinking maybe the seen text doesn't translate correctly between routes, but I'm no professional programmer.
I'm on a windows laptop.
Final note: This is merely a suggestion don't take it as a problem. Could it be possible to make the text appear instantly instead of at a speed? I do know I can just double click to make the text appear instantly but it's easy to over click and skip some dialogue and then I'd have to roll back. It's just something that affects only me (I think), but when looking at the text move like that I get really dizzy, I'm sensitive to flashing lights, but don't worry it is more of a nuisance.
Hello, thanks for your message. I'll forward your message to the coder, see if that's something we could do in a future update because I don't know either. The fast forwarding should work no matter what if you've triggered off "stopping at unseen text" in the settings. The game isn't "smart" enough to understand and remember what you read and what you didn't so this is your best tool.
That's also why we have the "skip" option that immediately brings you to the closest choice or to another day without having you to read through everything and yes, I know. You asked if we could get something in between. I'll see if that's possible or not.
Edit : Your request is possible, just got back from asking our coder about it. I can't say when, but I will keep it in mind for future updates.
We're approaching the big update\sprite rework. If you're considering playing the game I recommend waiting a couple more weeks for a better experience.
Just started playing this game, really have enjoyed the story so far, and the characters are really well made too so I'm excited to see how it continues. Enjoyed the routes that i've tried so far, will have to say my favorite has been Patrice so am intrigued to see how his continues especially after how it ended off
Put this vn off for a while but damn im hooked, very interesting concept and love the characters. I have one concern tho and its the amount of routes, usually vns with 5 or more routes take ages to get the plot moving. All in all good game ill wait patiently for the next update :3
I really love all the characters, as they're so well conrtived~ n_n especially Ryan! :D but I can't for the life of me stand Liam "^_^ I'm completely unable to play his route. He's detestable in every sense of the word :/ Just his face is enough to annoy me xD
Question: why in some routes that are not "canonical" (clyde, Dylan) we learn so much about the history and the mc, but the others routes (ryan, blake and patrice) these part did not revealed?
To us there isn't a canonical route. We consider all routes equal and special in their own way. To answer your question tho. Every character is different and that's why the story changes around them so the path they take isn't a straightforward line. Some knowledge is obtained earlier and in other routes is given later. I wouldn't want to make a story where the same things and the same history is given at the exact same time, that'd make everything flat. Routes with less knowledge will "catch up" if that makes sense XD
Hi i love this game and the characters and i just finished this update however for some reason no opion appear under the settings menu. Its completely blank im playing on Android btw
Hello, I'd rather not reveal the difference between the two routes, I consider that information itself a spoiler. I can tell you that they're equal routes and it's just a way for me to give you a personalized experience based on the choices you make. Ofc people can play both and enjoy the different angles for that extra lore.
This is sooooooo goooood i really enjoy every second i read this novel you're doing a great job with every character and i'm really keen to see more <3
I found about this VN today, and i just played this last build and omg i love it!, the mystery, the paranormal stuff, and the characters are so good. Ryan is my favorite one <3
Really good VN, all the characters feels so organic, and this (from what I have read) seems so difficult to achieve, very well done!!
I really like all of the characters, my favs are Ryan, Blake and Dylan coming in third, the CG introducing the characters were amazing! Even the MC had one, and he is SO CUTE!
Im loving the pacing of the story and the delivery of the mystery so far.
Anyway, I can't wait for an update. Im really curious to see what happens on Dylan's day 2, also... Its gonna be so hard to play other routes knowing I may be breaking Ryan's heart 😭
It's pretty hard to pick my favourite character, I'm torn up between Ryan, Blake, Patrice, Russell and Dylan (might have a slight preference for Blake and Russell though)
Just played the update and so far it's good. Bryan and Blake are the best boys in the vn but the winner goes to Blake. Looking forward to see more of Blake
Nice update~ ^^_ I love how developed all the characters are UwU and the way information is delivered is good too :) Xou play 1ne route and have xour questions answered on another :p
Ryan is best boi btw \>_</ Must. Have. Bear! O///O
And despite understanding the need for having a character like Liam, I really can't stand him xD I get WHY he's acting that way, I really do, but he positively irks me something terrible! D_D I still see his character as a successful write, because it takes something truely imitive to annoy a reader to such levels xP
Greay job all 'round~ ^^_ I can't wait to see where this story goes~!
I'm very happy to receive a comment about this because it gives me the opportunity to talk about it outside the game. First of all I absolutely agree with what you said. This is unrealistic and, as much as I wished it wasn't, it is.
That won't stop me from giving these people more depth instead of slapping the "gay" label on everyone indiscriminately. I have planned more, you will see more.
Thank you so much for noticing it, really. Made my day <3
I occasionally think about the fact that we always just assume the characters' gender and sexuality in these types of games, to the extent that for some reason it strikes me as more strange when the MC assumes heterosexual rather than homosexual in a game that's clearly supposed to be M/M.

My story ends here because I can't think of anything else. 😅 I hope you enjoyed it!
Inspiration captures me, many scenes involving the characters from Moonlight Castle come to mind! I hope it's not a problem if I write my fantasies here...
I absolutely don't mind. I enjoy reading all the comments I get.
Thank you for understanding, I think this thing is called "fanfiction".
There is a problem with downloading. I can only download 0.14.2...Woo woo woo…
I don't think it's an issue we can fix, but I can temporarily give you the google drive (removed)
Every link that downloads 2.01 will become 0.14.2... I don't want to give up this good novel... Wuwuwu...
Ok, I forgot that the coders have a different version name.
To make it as simple as possible version 2.01 = 0.14
I thought at first you couldn't download anything but the nostalgia check version. You can play this. You're on latest version.
I would be curious to know what the N3 with Clyde will be like, also because the route is incomplete and has remained with a note of sweetness.
In each route there is a nightmare of Joel's where he sees the guy he has feelings for get killed and sealed away.

Liam's talent will be shown during his N3, but you're fairly close.
I fear that if Joel wrote a love letter to Clyde, it would end up burned along with those of many other girls at school.
If you want, you can change it, putting only two tickets for Joel and his partner, or eight tickets so that everyone comes.
oh my god this is the beach episode 😭
These things could be AUs, like, the shorts smoke room did a few times.
Technically speaking, it wouldn't be the beach episode, it's more like it's set in an onsen. However, I don't think I understood your answer well, I apologize.
AU stands for Alternative Universe. Usually people write these for fun, outside of canon material, as a bonus.
Really looking forward to the next update. My heart broke when I failed to save a certain character during the second visit to the castle. Great emotional dynamic! And the twist on the third day worked well to raise the stakes and my anxiety levels to ensure a better outcome.
Im happy to hear that. We're currently working on the next night 3, should take about two more weeks to complete.

Sorry, I really don't have time to set up C. AI. I'll have to leave that to the readers.

Could I say that this game has similarities to the movie The Blair Witch Project?
I haven't watched it, can't say. You got my interest piqued though, I should watch it.
In summary, it is a found footage film. It is a fake documentary about three students who disappear while investigating a story of witches.
Is MC really named Joel? I got confused since I choose the name Noel, so I thought that the game only changes the first letter... but when I decided to try with other names he kept showing Joel regardless of the name that was written
Yes, that's his name.
COOL! BTW I am really enjoying the game, I reached the end of Dylan's route but since my list of games is long I will wait for new chapters now.

I'm always looking forward to hear what our readers think of the game.
you have awesome people you know, truly.
so far routes I'm caught up with are, Dylan, Patrice, working on Blake's atm on Night 3 and saving Ryan's for last hehe
sorry to bother you, idk where to put this. I got an error afterwards, was Blake Route A Night 3 as seeing him smoke right before leaving cafe to head to the castle. I clicked "ignore" still worked fine to continue.
Error caused by using save files. It doesn't happen to everyone for some reason but thankfully it can be ignored.
Thank you for hearing me out.
Hope to see more of this beautiful story!
The download keeps getting interrupted at the 280 mb mark, on android.
I can't seem to find a fix for this either.
--now it stops at 335 mb--
If you want to try I have a slightly older version, our early access that I have on google drive.
Edit -Removed url cuz it contains a few mistakes I wanted gone-
It worked, ty!
Sometimes it happens for me too, using a different browser can fix the issue sometimes.
I can't seem to extract the file :/
Uhm... this is a strange error. Try downloading the game from a different browser, lmk if that fixes the issue.
There seems to be other solutions in this thread, give it a look yourself -> https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/the-compressed-zipped-fold...
Hmm strange indeed, I downloaded it a second time and I was able to extract it that time. I didn't need to switch browsers.
Yeah, from what I've read the files corrupted mid download so it makes sense you can open it now after trying a second time.
We're approaching the big update\sprite rework. If you're considering playing the game I recommend waiting a couple more weeks for a better experience.
wait after it comes back how far will the routes be finished?
1 more month. We're updating around November. The update is big so it's impossible for me to say a specific date.
wait how far will the routes be (if you cant don't answer) will any routes be finished?
Awesome, Can't wait to see it!
Just started playing this game, really have enjoyed the story so far, and the characters are really well made too so I'm excited to see how it continues. Enjoyed the routes that i've tried so far, will have to say my favorite has been Patrice so am intrigued to see how his continues especially after how it ended off
Patrice, Dylan, Ryan and Blake N3 are scheduled for Mid November. Thank you for your nice words!
Put this vn off for a while but damn im hooked, very interesting concept and love the characters. I have one concern tho and its the amount of routes, usually vns with 5 or more routes take ages to get the plot moving. All in all good game ill wait patiently for the next update :3
Hello, thank you for your kind words. I have answered this question before next to others you might want to hear as well so you should check this post -> https://keykoz.itch.io/moonlight-castle/devlog/562645/survey-answers-game-develo...
The vn is a 10/10, loved each route.
Routes with less knowledge will "catch up" if that makes sense XD
i love this vn very much 10/10
Yayy, Update :D
Hope everything is alright. I really love this vn
Don't worry, still here! We have been preparing to drop a major update, that's why the unusual silence. We'll be back in a couple of weeks!
I'm happy that you replied, hope you come back fast :)
Hi i love this game and the characters and i just finished this update however for some reason no opion appear under the settings menu. Its completely blank im playing on Android btw
I'm really sorry, seems like this became a recurring problem. We'll get it fixed next month
hey if you dont mind explaining what is the difference between a and b
Hello, I'd rather not reveal the difference between the two routes, I consider that information itself a spoiler. I can tell you that they're equal routes and it's just a way for me to give you a personalized experience based on the choices you make. Ofc people can play both and enjoy the different angles for that extra lore.
This is sooooooo goooood i really enjoy every second i read this novel you're doing a great job with every character and i'm really keen to see more <3
PS: I absolutely love Dylan
I found about this VN today, and i just played this last build and omg i love it!, the mystery, the paranormal stuff, and the characters are so good. Ryan is my favorite one <3
This is a good VN, I am looking forward to read more from it when it updates :)
I agree with the previous comment, the characters in this game are REALLY well done. I've enjoyed what I've read so far and look forward to more.
Also hoping this comment boosts engagement, and that the itch algorithms will bless this game with the recognition it deserves.
Aw thank you so much! We work hard and reading comments like these are very rewarding!
Just finished catching up with the game
It's pretty hard to pick my favourite character, I'm torn up between Ryan, Blake, Patrice, Russell and Dylan (might have a slight preference for Blake and Russell though)
I look forward to play day 3 when it comes out !
A story made by a group of passionate, creative folks. Worth your time and attention.
more bear
